Transcontinental railroad

This article is talking about how they created railroads across the nation allowing them to trade between states and the transfer goods and material from over seas. Within ten years of having the railroad up in America they have transported about 50 million dollars worth of freight from coast to coast each year. People could even travel across the country to see other places and other stuff like books ended up in other states like New York. Railroads were a big impact back then because it allowed them to transport material and items that were sent from over seas.

Four causes of WWI

Militarism- everyone during World War I were trying to form the best army in the war both on the ground and in the water. Great Britain and the best navy and Germany was trying to form a better one to over power them.

Imperialism- countries were taking over other countries to gain land and resources to improve their military. This caused war because countries were fighting over land.

Alliance- countries join each other to protect in a fight if need and to gain more power and to win the war. there were two alliance the triple alliance and the triple entente.

Nationalism-  extreme love for their country and will to fight for there country. This caused war because people were killing people for their country to show their love for their country

Spark of the war- the spark to World War I was the assassination Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand.

1. Unrestricted sub warfare- 1917, sinking a ship without warning
2. Lusitania- 1915, Ship will men and supplies sunk by unrestricted sub warfare
3. Sussex pledge- 1917,no longer sinking ships will supplies without any warning.
4. Zimmerman note- 1917,

Triple Alliance and The Central powers

Triple alliance and the Central powers:

The triple alliance all started when Germany, austria-hungry and Italy all decided to put away their conflicts with each other and to join as one power to can power over the triple Entente. theses three countries came together and signed a document that say that they will give support and military equipment in case of war. The triple Entente were in a war against the triple alliance. the triple alliance members wanted to gain more control over land. Italy wanted more land in Greece, Austria-Hungry wanted the Balkans land and Germany just wanted to expanded and gain more power through out the war. Later during the war Italy didn't full trust austria-hungry and made a secret alliance with France. After the two sides made a treaty allowing each other to take other neutral territory with out conflict from the other alliances. The other alliance was between Great Britain, France and Russia but later Italy and toward  the end of the war the United States joined, this alliance was called the Triple Entente. The triple alliance was between the triple entente and shared a boarder. Russia and Germany shared and France and Austria-Hungry shared a boarder. This was a very bad spot for them to be and Great Britain was not to far away either. Great Britain had a very strong navy and Germany had a board to the ocean.
